New Jersey needs a plan for sea level rise and future storms, because all of us deserve to be better prepared for the future we face. A strong offense means we need to do everything we can to minimize sea level rise and climate change – and that includes moving towards renewable energy. Our state has very ambitious goals for offshore wind and is moving forward to develop it. But like we say, nothing about us without us. We understand this new industry will lower carbon emissions (which will help with sea level rise and extreme weather), and create good jobs for us where we live, but we are still identifying what other community benefits could be within our reach.
