We passed a bill that allows paramedics in New Jersey to administer life-saving treatment for substance use disorder.

Buprenorphine is a safe and effective FDA-approved medication that prevents overdoses and supports recovery. This law allows paramedics to administer buprenorphine on the scene of an overdose reversal through mobile intensive care units. (Later, we went on to pass the MAT Act and make buprenorphine even more accessible to those who need it.)
