June 21, 2021 - Passed expanded access to overdose antidotes
We passed two bills to ensure easy access to Naloxone in New Jersey.
The ability to reverse an overdose is the chance to save a life. One of these laws makes overdose antidote Naloxone and Narcan easier to access by allowing any person in NJ to obtain, administer, and distribute them to others when they reasonably believe a person may overdose. It also makes Narcan easier to get from pharmacies. Another eliminates restrictions imposed by health insurance companies for opioid antidotes, which ensures that insurance covers them.
