Before we were facing the COVID-19 pandemic, New Jerseyans were facing another disaster – the overdose crisis. And now amid COVID-19, we are experiencing an uptick in overdose deaths across New Jersey and the US. In just the first few months of 2020, New Jersey has seen an increase in overdose deaths by 20% compared to last year. Yet, because of the economic crisis caused by COVID-19, funding for lifesaving interventions and overdose prevention has been cut or diverted to address other needs.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Together we’re fighting to win solutions that will increase funding to address the overdose crisis and expand access to the lifesaving interventions we need like Medically Assisted Treatment, Naloxone and harm reduction services that will help people who use drugs and people in recovery lead healthier lives.
Join us July 30th at 6pm for Not One More: Solutions to End Overdose to learn how you can stand up and speak out to end the overdose crisis.
